PGG is currently seeking applications for the following positions:

Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Project Accountant/HR Administrator

We are looking for a full-charge bookkeeper that loves variety. The job is located in the Eastlake neighborhood and would be approximately 80% Bookkeeping, 10% HR and Project Accounting/Assistance, and 10% Office Management. We offer a flexible schedule, a competitive salary with medical insurance for employee, LTD, a SARSEP with company contribution, and a generous PTO plan. The job is hourly and can range from ¾-time to full time depending on efficiencies achieved by applicant, their desire for time-flexibility, and their involvement in non-bookkeeping company functions. We expect near full-time bookkeeping during the first several months, after which time a portion of efforts can be shifted to HR and office management (or expressed as reduced hours, if desired).

Primary responsibilities will include:

Monthly payroll for approximately 20 employees

Monthly client invoicing/client payment processing, etc.

File monthly and quarterly taxes for Federal, State and Local Jurisdictions; payroll and excise taxes

Vendor bill entry/payment

Bank deposits

Bank reconciliations

GL account reconciliations

Month-end closed

Monthly financial statements

Fixed asset management

Year-end close

Work with CPA to finalize YE

Project setup in BillQuick, assist PM with administering contract documents, project procedure setup

Management of office supplies and office equipment

Answer phones and direct calls (minimal)

Other duties as required

Additional knowledge and skills that would be desirable include:

5+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience

Must be able to meet deadlines

Experience working in the consulting industry

Ability to work independently

Effective communication, time management and organizational skills

Advanced Experience with Quickbooks a must

Experience with BillQuick (or similar) a definite plus

Intermediate Experience with MS Office Suite desired

Understanding of GAAP, payroll tax laws and procedures, and general office procedures


Perfect candidate would also have:

Benefit administration experience

Job costing experience

FARS compliance knowledge/experience

Subject: Bookkeeper 2019

Scientist or Engineer Sought

Pacific Groundwater Group (PGG) of Seattle, Washington seeks to hire a Scientist or Engineer with a Master or PhD and one to five years experience in water resource and land use hydrogeology. Join our team on projects ranging from water resource development and permitting, water infiltration, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, sampling, data management, and groundwater modeling.

We are looking for someone to join our team who has most of the following:

Master degree or PhD in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, or related field

Theoretical and applied understanding of groundwater flow, production well design and testing, water rights mitigation, well hydraulics, vadose zone processes, contaminant transport, data management, and groundwater modeling

Strong writing and verbal ability

Ability to discern what is important, to observe important details, to integrate details into a global understanding, and to communicate that information

Good organizational skills

Strong self-initiation

Eagerness to assist in field efforts, analysis, and reporting

Forensics Scientist or Engineer Sought

Seattle, Washington seeks to hire a Scientist or Engineer with a Master's or PhD. Our projects range from remedial investigations/feasibility studies and cleanups to Superfund sediments allocation and forensics. We perform technical analysis of data from some of the largest Superfund sites nationally. Because of our size and strong reputation, we generally are able to choose projects that are interesting and offer technical challenges.

We are looking for someone to join our team who has most of the following:

Master's degree in geology, hydrogeology, geochemistry, or related field

Background in environmental remediation, aqueous geochemistry, isotopes, and environmental geochemistry

Knowledge of fate and transport of organics and metals, chemical forensics

Knowledge of groundwater theory and well hydraulics

Theoretical and applied understanding of groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling

Strong writing and verbal ability

Ability to discern what is important, to observe important details, to integrate details into a global understanding, and to communicate that information

Good organizational skills

Strong self-initiation

Eagerness to assist in field efforts, analysis, and reporting

Additional knowledge and skills that would be desirable include:

Superfund sediment site experience

Environmental sampling techniques, statistics, modeling, medium to large data management, data analysis (knowledge of R or Python)

Pacific Northwest experience
